- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level jazz trumpet students, and supervise graduate teaching assistants.
- Recruit and maintain a successful teaching studio
- Serve on doctoral and master's committees and juries.
- Maintain a professional career as a performing artist.
- Participate in university and professional service activities nationally and internationally as appropriate.
- Additional responsibilities may include teaching courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
Qualifications
A doctoral degree in a related field or a master's degree with equivalent professional experience is required at the time of appointment.

- Hold a record of successful university-level teaching experience and proven artistry as a professional performer.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to the recruitment of outstanding students.
