Job Summary
Jacksonville University College of Law invites applications for multiple full-time, tenure-track or non-tenure track faculty positions to begin Fall 2026. As a newer law school looking to substantially grow our faculty over the next few years, we are hiring in all areas of expertise. Particular needs include legal writing, tax, contracts and upper-level business courses, criminal law, evidence, trial advocacy and trial practice, trusts and estates, family law, bar preparation courses, and academic success. Flexibility in teaching across the curriculum, especially the 1L curriculum, and experience with the ABA accreditation process will be highly valued, as will appreciation and enthusiasm for the unique challenges and opportunities of building a new law school. Two to three years of full-time law teaching or the equivalent is preferred.
All positions require a JD or equivalent degree. The College of Law is a unitary faculty, and all candidates must show a commitment to excellence in teaching and service. Candidates for tenure-track positions should also show a record of, or substantial promise of, scholarly achievement.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Teaching in-person courses in the JD curriculum as determined by the Dean and Academic Dean
- Providing student support on campus, both in office hours and periodically at student and campus events in the evenings or on weekends
- Participating in the ABA accreditation process
- Serving on law school and university committees, which may include attending meetings and events on campus throughout the year
- Contributing to the scholarly life of the law school
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong, dynamic teaching skills
- Familiarity with course planning, preparation, and assessment
- Collaborative approach to law teaching and service
- Flexibility to adapt to the curricular and service needs of a growing law school
- High quality scholarly record or evidence of scholarly potential (for tenure track positions)
Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience:
- JD or equivalent degree
- 2-3 years of prior law teaching experience preferred
- Relevant practice experience or other professional experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
- Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and virtually.
- Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
- Stamina to teach up to 24 hours weekly.
