Responsibilities

The OPS AV Technician's core responsibilities involve assisting the College of Law's technology team with audio-visual operations, classroom technical setup, and helpdesk support. This role ensures operational readiness across academic spaces and provides direct multimedia and desktop assistance to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Provide technical support for events requiring AV assistance, employing great customer service skills to ensure a smooth event experience.
  • Communicate with users over the phone, email, in person, and remotely to resolve their technical issues relating to classroom technology.
  • Conduct room checks to verify the functionality of technology in all classrooms and directly troubleshoot or report issues to the AV Manager for further assistance.
  • Input the recording schedule for classes and one-off events in our lecture capture system.
  • Provide technical support for law school exam software during midterms and finals.
  • Crosstrain with the helpdesk to provide desktop support for Windows and Apple devices, troubleshoot computer hardware issues, perform peripheral installations, and other helpdesk needs.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and one year experience in a technical role.
  • Effective communication skills with users of various technical backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Self-motivated, able to work within a project-based and team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Being able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to follow documentation of AV/IT processes and functions
  • Experience with setup and operation of basic AV Equipment
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite

Schedule: Working hours will primarily be between 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday. Applicants will be considered for part-time (20 hours per week) only. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary to support College of Law events.
