The mission of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is to "promote public safety and strengthen domestic security by providing services in partnership with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies to prevent, investigate, and solve crime while protecting Florida's citizens and visitors."

FDLE is required by the FBI and Florida legislation to establish mechanisms for collecting and sharing data from across the state of Florida with the FBI and external stakeholders. The data that is collected and shared is interrelated. As a result, FDLE is implementing the necessary systems for the collection, storage, and dissemination of the required data. There are three groupings of data; Florida Incident Based Reporting System (FIBRS), automated Arrest Form (A-Form), and Criminal Justice Data Transparency (CJDT). FDLE utilizes PowerBI to report and share the data for the citizens of Florida.
FDLE requires the services of one Data Architect for Information Technology Services Project's Office development initiatives related to data sharing. FDLE also has many other systems needing additional resources to continue the level of support required.
