Position Summary:
The Distribution & Collection Operator leads a team performing maintenance, repair, and installation of water distribution and sewer collection systems, with a focus on collections/sewer plumbing expertise, while ensuring safe and reliable service.
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Distribution and Collection Operators in daily field operations
- Install, maintain, and repair water/sewer lines, meters, and related equipment
- Perform line repairs, leak detection, and low-pressure troubleshooting
- Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, cranes, forklifts, dump trucks)
- Perform trench work, backfill, and site restoration
- Clean sewer lines and lift station wet wells
- Turn water meters on/off; install meters and meter boxes
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Complete work orders and field complaint forms
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- FDEP Class 3 Distribution Operator License (or ability to obtain within one year)
- Construction experience
- Valid driver's license
- Preferred: FDEP Class 2 License, FWPCOA Class C Collections License, Class B CDL
