Responsibilities

The Extended Day Group Leader will be responsible for supervising and engaging with students in our afterschool program. This role involves leading activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, and fostering a positive environment.
  • Supervise children in the after-school program, participate in outdoor activities, help with homework as needed, and lead activity lessons (educational enrichment, arts and crafts, and games).
  • Demonstrate positive interaction with children, where all children feel valued and respected.
  • Demonstrate positive discipline through teaching and redirection.
  • Help children to develop a positive self-esteem and sense of self-worth.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records and report any incidents or issues to program administrators as they occur.
  • Uphold and enforce program policies and procedures.
  • Potentially work during the summer months as part of our summer program.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Punctual and ability to focus on the job at hand.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with children, parents, and co-workers.
  • A positive attitude, patience, and a genuine interest in working with children.
