An ESOL paraprofessional supports English language learners by assisting teachers with instruction, providing individualized student support, and facilitating communication between students, teachers, and parents. ESOL paraprofessionals assist certified teachers in delivering lessons in core subjects such as math, science, social studies, and computer literacy, using English and, when necessary, the student's native language to ensure comprehension. They may tutor individual students or small groups, reinforce vocabulary and lesson content, and help students operate instructional equipment like computers and audio-visual tools. They supervise students during classroom activities, group work, and sometimes on school buses. They provide one-on-one or small group support, focusing on both academic and social-emotional needs, and help students navigate challenges while fostering independence

High school diploma or equivalent, At least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution (with 30 in general education core and/or child development/education) or successful completion of the ParaPro test (score = 457). Classroom experience with children, bilingual ability (English + student?s native language), and approval by the district ESOL coordinator
