Shift: Night Shift - 10-12 Hour Shifts with Weekend Rotation

Position Summary:

• As a Medical Technologist at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, you will be responsible for performing accurate and timely laboratory testing, analyzing proficiency testing samples, and adhering to established protocols.
• This role involves independent judgment in interpreting patient results, ensuring quality control procedures are followed, and handling critical laboratory specimens. In the absence of the supervisor, you will assume departmental responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform precise and timely laboratory testing, analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions, and meeting set timeframes.
• Assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor.
• Complete all necessary records/documentation related to patient results.
• Conduct stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
• Exercise judgment and independent thinking in correlating and interpreting patient results, including performing delta checks.
• Review pending and result logs, resolving outstanding workload or communicating relief needs.
• Execute quality control procedures as per protocol and manage problem or critical laboratory specimens/test results.

Qualifications:

• Required: 2-year/Associate Degree
• Preferred: 4-year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology
• Required: State of Florida Technologist License or ability to obtain during the interview process
• Less than 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist
• Technologist Licensing in one or more clinical specialty areas:

  • Serology,
  • Chemistry,
  • Hematology,
  • Microbiology

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly Wage Estimate: $24.63 - $32.51/Hour
• Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
• Shift Differentials:

• Weekend: $4.00
• After 3:00 PM: $2.50
• After 11:00 PM Until 7 AM: $3.50

• Relocation: Case by Case Basis
