Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment. We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. Job Description:
  • Provide expert guidance on oncology treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care.
  • Assist nurses with complex patient care situations such as treatment reactions, symptom management, and urgent clinical changes.
  • Support safe medication administration practices, including verification of treatment plans and protocols.
  • Respond to infusion reactions and other oncology emergencies.
  • Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for oncology nursing staff.
  • Provide real-time coaching on oncology procedures, safety standards, and patient care practices.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new oncology nurses.
  • Support staff in managing challenging clinical and workflow situations.
  • Ensure adherence to oncology safety standards, chemotherapy handling guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe handling of hazardous drugs per organizational and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to oncology care.
  • Monitor documentation accuracy and treatment compliance.
  • Facilitate communication between providers, pharmacy, nursing staff, and support services.
  • Assist with coordination of patient flow, treatment scheduling, and urgent patient needs.
  • Support patient education regarding treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management.
  • Provide ongoing education on oncology treatments, protocols, and emerging therapies.
  • Support competency validation for chemotherapy administration.
  • Promote best practices and evidence-based oncology care.
