Responsibilities

Reporting to the Business Manager, the part-time Event Coordinator initiates, plans, promotes and executes Student Veterans Center (SVC) events and activities including but not limited to monthly breakfasts and lunches, 3 veteran/cadet graduation ceremonies each year, semester kickoff events, orientation open houses, military appreciation athletic events, and the annual Military Ball.
  • Represents the SVC at event-related planning meetings, regularly updates SVC administrators and staff, prepares event agendas, and coordinates event-related communications as needed.
  • Maintains partnerships with university units, particularly Veterans Alliance members (SVC, Collegiate Veterans Association, Veterans Student Union, Veterans Alumni Network, Veteran Liaisons, Veteran Faculty and Staff), as well as the FSU Panama City Campus, Career Center, Alumni Association, Athletics Marketing, ROTC units, and University Relations.
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with local caterers, venues, businesses, and organizations to develop and implement veteran-centered experiences and activities, on-campus and off.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma/equivalent.
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
  • Must possess a strong background in event planning and coordination, alongside proven budget management experience.
  • Proficiency in managing mailing lists and communication platforms, as well as a strong understanding of social media management and current digital trends.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design or visual tools is a plus.

Anticipated Salary Range

$20.00 per hour.
