Job Description

The Athletic Performance Table Supervisor is responsible for supervising team feeding operations, coordinates meal service, manages inventory and food presentation standards, and collaborates with athletics, culinary, and nutrition staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience that supports athletic performance.

Job Responsibilities

    • Supervise daily team feeding and performance table operations for student-athletes.
    • Coordinate meal service schedules to support athletic training, competition, recovery, and travel requirements.
    • Ensure food is prepared, displayed, and served according to established quality, nutrition, and presentation standards.
    • Monitor food safety, sanitation, and health compliance requirements within all service areas.
    • Lead and supervise performance table attendants, food service workers, and support staff.
    • Train employees on food handling procedures, customer service expectations, and operational protocols.
    • Maintain accurate inventory of food, supplies, beverages, and equipment.
    • Assist with ordering products and managing stock levels to ensure uninterrupted service.
    • Collaborate with sports dietitians, athletics personnel, culinary teams, and vendors to support nutrition initiatives.
    • Monitor portion control and food waste reduction efforts.
    • Ensure performance table areas remain clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready at all times.
    • Support special events, team meals, recruiting functions, training camps, and athletic department events.
    • Address service concerns and resolve operational issues in a professional and timely manner.
    • Maintain records related to meal counts, inventory usage, and operational performance.
    • Protect company and university assets while promoting a safe and positive environment for student-athletes.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned to support athletic dining operations.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Previous experience in food service, athletics dining, performance nutrition, hospitality, or catering operations required.
    • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition principles.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff, and food service personnel.
    • Experience managing inventory, ordering, and operational logistics preferred.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in basic computer applications and recordkeeping systems.
    • Availability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and athletic events.

    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
    • Ability to work in kitchen, dining, warehouse, and event environments.
    • Ability to safely operate food service equipment as required.
    • Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as applicable.
