Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Safe School Officer to support daily security operations within a school setting. This role is responsible for promoting a secure campus while maintaining a professional, respectful, and approachable presence for students, employees, administrators, and visitors.
The officer will monitor campus activity, identify potential safety concerns, assist with emergency situations, and take appropriate action when incidents arise. The position requires professionalism, discretion, situational awareness, and the ability to remain composed in both routine and high-pressure circumstances.
The selected candidate will work independently while following school policies, security procedures, and established emergency protocols.
Pay & Hiring Incentive
• $30 per hour
• $3,000 one-time hiring bonus
o $1,000 paid on January 30
o $2,000 paid on June 15
• Full-time, in-person position
• 8-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain an active security presence on school property, including buildings, grounds, and designated surrounding areas.
• Observe campus activity and address potential security or safety issues.
• Follow established access-control, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and other situations requiring immediate attention.
• Use professional communication and de-escalation techniques to help prevent or manage conflicts.
• Interact appropriately and respectfully with students, faculty, administrators, parents, and visitors.
• Participate in emergency drills, preparedness exercises, and required safety training.
• Complete incident reports and other security documentation accurately and on time.
• Remain prepared to respond to changing conditions and unexpected campus events.
• Support school-wide safety initiatives and maintain awareness of potential risks.
• Perform additional security-related responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Active Florida D License, G License, Driver's License, and CCW
• Aaron Feis Guardian Program / Safe School Officer Training Certificate
• Minimum 3 years of combined experience in security, law enforcement, corrections, emergency response, or a related field
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong firearms and tactical training background
• Familiarity with emergency response procedures and security protocols
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public
• Sound judgment and strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
• Must provide personally owned firearm, Level 3 holster, duty belt, and 5 magazines
• Full availability for on-site work is required
Preferred Background
Candidates with previous experience in law enforcement, military service, school security, corrections, or emergency response are encouraged to apply.
