Job Type: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Pay: $25+ per hour, Based on Experience

Responsibilities:

• Lead safety onboarding and orientation programs for new hires while educating employees on company safety policies, hazard communication, and reporting procedures.

• Conduct hands-on training and competency assessments for bucket truck, boom lift, and scissor lift operators, ensuring safe equipment operation and compliance with industry standards.

• Facilitate fall protection training for elevated work activities, including highway lighting, traffic signal, and industrial substation projects, ensuring compliance with anchorage and harness requirements.

• Deliver classroom instruction, field evaluations, and recertification training for forklift operators handling heavy electrical materials, transformers, switchgear, and conduit systems.

• Train and evaluate employees on the safe operation, inspection, guarding, and maintenance of industrial machinery and specialized electrical equipment.

• Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety policies and procedures for industrial electrical, lift station, wastewater treatment, and DOT roadway construction projects.

• Perform routine safety audits and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions related to MOT, grounding, lockout/tagout, and other high-risk activities.

• Investigate workplace injuries, utility strikes, vehicle accidents, electrical incidents, and near-misses while conducting root-cause analyses and preparing detailed incident reports.

• Ensure organizational compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E standards, FDOT specifications, and all applicable local, state, and federal safety requirements.

• Develop emergency action plans, coordinate first-aid response efforts, inspect emergency equipment, and serve as a liaison between field operations, management, and emergency response agencies.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Preferred OSHA 30 or OSHA 510 certificate
  • Minimum of two (2) years of dedicated construction safety experience
  • Valid Driver Licenses, must maintain clean driving record frequently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Demands

Must be able to perform multiple tasks and can handle the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50lbs.
