This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
The Social Worker Program Coordinator manages the daily operations of the program, develop policies and procedures for the program operation and prepares reports and statistics for the clinic, service line, facility, VISN, and national use. The Social Worker Program Coordinator utilizes funding data related to the program regarding day-to-day functioning and program evaluation.
The Social Worker Program Coordinator has responsibility for coordinating interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments and admission criteria of the program.The Social Worker Program Coordinator supervises an interdisciplinary team of professionals, to include, but not limited to psychiatrists/physicians, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, RNs, APRNs, LMFTs, administrative staff, and others assigned to the program.

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Physical Requirements: It is VA policy to ensure that all selected applicants and employed personnel are physically, mentally and emotionally fit to perform the duties of the position to which assigned. - The incumbent exercises supervisor authorities and responsibilities involved in work assignment and review as well as, the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised.
- Consistently reviews clinical profiles to ensure appropriate appointment management process and appropriate workload credit is being achieved for the individual employee as well as, MHSL and respective disciplines.
- Implements system redesign projects and/or participates in funded formal research, when appropriate.
- Performs a wide range of services and provides technical assistance to State, local, and private agencies, and universities based on monitoring activities and program reviews, and the development and analysis of information..
- Responsible for key project activities related to the planning, development, and implementation of the project component.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Education. Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
- Licensure. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
GRADE REQUIREMENTS

- Experience/Education: One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. Candidates may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience.
- Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as supervisory social workers must be licensed or certified at the Advanced Practice Level AND must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):
In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
- Skill in coordinating and implementing one or more specialty program(s), across the facility.
- Skill in local policy and practice development, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program as prescribed by the program handbook or national directive.
- Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s).
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to further program goals and enhance patient centered care.
- Ability to provide the full range of supervisory duties including assignment of work to be performed; performance evaluations; and selection of staff, training, and recommendation of awards, advancements, and when appropriate, disciplinary action.
- Ability to oversee the fiscal matters of the functions supervised (including fund controls, contracts, and equipment expenditures), forecast resource and equipment needs, and administer the allocated budget.
