You will be responsible for instructing students on the techniques of playing the steelpan (steel drums), teaching music theory, and managing ensemble performances. Will organize rehearsals, maintain instruments, and foster an inclusive, engaging musical environment for students of varying skill levels. This includes teaching proper mallet grips, striking techniques, and rhythm in a progression from beginner basics to advanced playing.
Arranging & Transcribing Music: Adapting, transposing, and arranging popular and traditional songs to fit the specific ranges and keys of the steel drum ensemble.
Ensemble Direction: Leading group rehearsals, conducting sections, and ensuring section balances (e.g., matching the leads, double seconds, and bass pans).Performance Preparation: Preparing students for recitals, school concerts, or community performances.

As a Music Keyboarding teacher you will instruct students on proper piano and electronic keyboard techniques, music theory, and sight-reading. Core duties include developing tailored lesson plans, tracking student progress, and preparing students for recitals or exams. Responsibilities also involve maintaining a positive learning environment and adapting instruction to individual learning paces.
Specific daily and long-term responsibilities include:
Instruction & Curriculum. Develop structured and engaging lesson plans that cover posture, finger dexterity, and musicality. Teach students to read sheet music, understand chord progressions, and recognize different musical notations and styles. Observe students' hand placement and timing, providing real-time demonstrations and actionable corrections.
