Our Southeast division is seeking a transportation engineer with a proven track record of executing transportation projects for FDOT and city/county/local governments. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial mind-set to help grow our transportation engineering practice in the state of Florida, and contribute towards our national practice in the area.

On Any Given Day, You'll

  • Assist in marketing opportunities and work collaboratively to win transportation projects from clients including FDOT, cities, counties, and municipalities.
  • Actively participate in design, oversee plans production, and ensure the work is produced on schedule, profitably, and in conformance with the quality standards of Ayres and requirements of the contract.
  • Build and maintain respectful working relationships with PMs and other leaders within the company.
  • Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.
  • Actively engage in professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation.
  • Registered professional engineer (PE) in Florida.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of transportation
  • Sound knowledge of FDOT Roadway design standards and specifications
  • Proven experience in project delivery focused on transportation design, plans production, and digital delivery
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record.

  • Urban and rural roadway design
  • PD&E and corridor studies
  • Passion for representing Ayres in a professional manner.
